Is there a minimum passport validity requirement when applying for a visa extension in Thailand?
When I apply for my next extension of stay, is there a minimum validity requirement on my passport ??. ie, My current extension of stay expires in September, so I would normally go and reapply 30 days prior to this in August. But my current passport expires in October.

OPAs a retiree, how do people provide the Name and address/and or residency evidence , asked for in the British passport application ??. I dont seem to fit the bill for any of the examples shown.

The requirements are listed on the UK gov website, they have been changed since I last applied. After a second look it seems that a simple copy of visa will be enough.Tod *********

You can renew a UK passport now(should take about a month) . They will add in the unexpired period of your old one.

They changed policy a good while back and will only give you an extension good for the validity of your passport.
So if your passport's not valid for a year, GO renew it before you apply for your extension.

Actually, it wasn't a problem, immigration moved my stamps into the newer passport without any fuss at all.Richard *******
OPPeter Laird I had to do the same, I am fairly certain that the only way I could do it would be to cancel both passports.

Not easy to simply get a second UK passport at the best of times.
Being retired I doubt they would even entertain it.

, can't you just renew the passport that's expiring like normal? I mean you're NOT renewing BOTH passports at the same time.I don't believe you need to have a job to hold two passports.

OPI am now retired so I don't believe I am eligible to continue holding two passports. In the past I had to show a company letter in order to do this.

nope, IF you hold two passports from the same country you can't get an extension transferred from one passport to another. :/ I had a friend try to do that on his US passports and they denied it outright. They said IF he wanted to switch passports he would need to start the entire process from scratch on the new one.
He ended up renewing his passport and getting the yearly extension in it.
