Anonymous participant I don't know exactly but there's huge amounts of detailed information on here. Just search for the embassy that you're applying for.

DTV really is dead simple unless you have some really complex company, financial and tax set up in which case I'd either go soft power or get a solicitor to look over it. Also for what it's worth people seem to want to rush towards agent's which is some cases can do more damage than good and cause serious immigration problems for you even one's that are recommended and highly rated and I'm speaking from experience. Only use an agent as a last resort is my advice.

I'm not in need of a border run at the moment but I just thought the post was bizarre to say the least. It started off from the point of view of a DTV holder and morphed into an for agent stating the disadvantages of going to somewhere like nong khai and having to pay for a visa but at the same time saying you're better off paying,4.5 k for transport and a random unexplained 2k at the border. How does that make any sense ๐Ÿค”. I'll bear your info in mind for future.

Ok so basically an agent has made this post. After making your way to the border why would it cost เธฟ2000 at the border please explain, surely that makes no sense, please explain?? เธฟ4500 per person so it would cost เธฟ9000 for 2 people for a 3 hour round trip. That's absolutely absurd and laughable. Surely I could easily rent a car in Hat Yai or even a scooter ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

I thought you can only apply for and be granted an METV in your country of residence. It's highly likely the OP wasn't a resident of Laos being that they only had to be outside Thailand to apply for an METV

Definitely not in my case. One single confirmed appointment signed by a dentist. The hardest part is finding a dental clinic that will have the doctor sign a letter with an appointment with proposed treatment.

That is not correct. Immigration have officially confirmed that a photocopy is acceptable for the exact reason being the risk of loss or damage if your carrying it daily.

I'm slightly nervous about contacting the embassy in case they potentially cancel the original and insist I re-apply,that would be quite extreme for a lost passport ๐Ÿค”. Maybe I'll print my original passport I info page and DTV, then try to enter in Dec.

Zero value. Remember you can only top up with foreign currency at a Kasikorn FX booth. Despite all the fancy advertising I really don't think they thought this through and it just sounds like a cash grab from Kasikorn
