Hi, has anyone else on a dtv lost their passport and had the embassy transfer over the visa to their new passport? My DTV was issued in London so I think my first step should be to contact them, any advice from anyone who's been in a similar situation please?
Edit: To be clear I lost my passport outside of Thailand and I'll want to re-enter on a brand new one, not in possession of the old passport only a photocopy of the data page.
I want to get a yellow book and a pink card. I am looking at applying for permanent residency next year and am informed that having a yellow book makes the process easier.
Background: I am married to a Thai national and have been living and working in Thailand for two years. I have done my tax returns.
My understanding of applying for the yellow book from my local amphur where I enquired about the yellow book is that I need a translated and mfa certified copy of my passport.
I do not have time to travel to Bangkok to get this done so approached a legal firm who informed me that I must travel to the British embassy in Bangkok to get the passport certified first, tgen translated into Thai and then certified by MFA but online it says only a translated copy of my passport with MFA certification.
If I have to travel to the British embassy it’ll be some time before I can do that .
My question which is the correct way to do this and is there an agent who can do this so I don’t have to travel to Bangkok
I've been told I need to get a copy of my passport certified by my embassy, and then translated to Thai with a certification from the MFA. The translation isn't my concern, but has anyone gotten their passport certified by the British Embassy? It seems like British passports can be certified by local notary companies, but I'm a bit lost and on a time crunch.
Does anyone know the process? And does anyone have any recommendations in the Pattaya/Sattahip area for a notary service?
Not visa related - more anything else. I intend to marry in Thailand and have the certified marital status document and passport copy from the British Embassy. I believe the next step it to have these documents translated to Thai and then authorised. Does anyone know an authorised translation service in Jomtien/Pattaya that can translate at a reasonable cost (without using an agent)? Thanks in advance for constructive replies.
