I'm planning to apply for the DTV under medical treatment (dentist) at the embassy in Vientiane next week.

I've searched through all related posts in this group but there's limited info on this specific scenario, so I'm looking for some input/advice.

1. Has anyone else applied for the DTV under medical treatment (dentist) at the embassy in Vientiane?

2. If so, exactly what information did you need to provide?

3. Is there any reason why I should go to a different embassy instead? (I'm able to provide 6mths of bank statements >500k thb so that isn't a problem)

I've contacted the embassy directly and am waiting for a response, they usually redirect to their website though which doesn't give further info.

I'm currently in Bangkok, so before exiting I want to make sure I've got everything in order for a quick approval.

I'm yet to visit a dentist here in Bangkok, but will do later this week so they can send a summary of the work needed unless simply 'having a confirmed appointment' is enough.

Has anyone had crowns fitted in Bangkok? I'm visiting Thailand in October and I'd like to get a full set, depending on cost. I would like to know about anyones experiences and cost of the procedure.

Also, what grade of crown did you go for? Are you happy with that decision?

I'd like to find a dental or hospital to have braces for my teeth and I wish to stay longer here as it will be a longtime treatment.

May I apply a Medical Visa for this situation?

Hi, I started an orthodontic treatment in 2019 in Bangkok and I had to wait the end of the pandemic to return. Now that the rules loosened, I am planning to return and continue my treatment.

Does anyone know if a medical visa can be issued for this case? What documents are required? How long can I expect the visa period to cover?

I think there are 2 types of Medical Visa, one if you come for Medical Tourism and another if you want an extension if you came on normal tourist visa.

Are this visas only awarded for emergencies? Or what about for example:

- Not strictly medical neccesary (removing wisdom teeth operation with checkups after)

- Cosmetic surgery

- Physical therapy

This ones I am not looking for:

There is also a Medical Visa for Asian people. There is also a visa for 50+. Medicla Visa for some special countries like Brasil and few other countries.

I saw for example this:
