The application has to be done online, outside of Thailand. You will only go to an Embassy if you are called to attend an interview, or you have to go to the Embassy to pay for your visa after you have submitted the application, for example in Lao PDR

You will only be asked for proof of income, if you are freelance, or employed by a foreign company that allows you to work remotely in Thailand. They may ask you to highlight on your bank statements the income obtained from your freelance work. If they don’t ask, don’t offer the information.

The main financial requirement is that you have minimum 500,000 baht or foreign currency equivalent in your bank account, for at least 1 month (some embassies require 3 months) before your application

Go out of Thailand now, and back in for 180 day stamp. You have time before your meeting. Avoid overstaying. You don’t want that on your record if at all possible

I have two Thai bank accounts, SCB and K.Bank, 16 years and 6 years respectively.

Both banks know I changed my visa to DTV, and they are not concerned at all due to my accounts have been opened for many years and steady banking activity

Posted just for info for other DTV holders

I have yet to read anywhere that DTV holders are being asked to show proof of having 500,000 baht when re-entering the country.

What is it that you want to check ? If you have got your e-visa already what is there to check ?

Thanks for sharing your experience ! Surely useful for some DTV holders who wish to try the extension route, and why not. It’s an option advertised by Thai immigration

It has to be cash in Bank. They don’t accept, bonds, investments or bitcoin.

Thai Embassy in the UK appear to be a bit more relaxed about how long the fund has been in the proposed account. 1 month appears to be acceptable, but yo be safe, 3 months in the account with 3 months bank statements to prove it
