thank you. It was brutal for sure. She was a snake hunter. She could smell them from a mile away, and would seek them out. She killed 7 cobras in her lifetime (we tried everything to keep them out of our gardens). We knew the snake would eventually win, but still so incredibly heart wrenching.

We adopted her when she was a tiny puppy and had her for 8 years. RIP Tuk Tuk.

Maybe not ... but in the US it is very common. Otherwise animal control will pick up your cat and take it. True story.

Some of these people have no clue what they're talking about. Sure .. you would have an issue finding a rental in a tourist area, but not in smaller towns like where we live. We had 13 animals (now 11), and have been here for 9 years.

Many landlords don't want animals, but many are perfectly fine with it. We also volunteer with a TNR foundation locally. Life is good.

I won't name where exactly we live on this forum, because we don't want more people here, but animal lovers are an exception in my mind. PM for location.

The Western way of caring for cats means you keep them inside. All of our Thai cats have been raised inside, and it is not an issue for them or wildlife.

As long as he rents in a non tourist area, and get approval up front, it should be no problem. We live in a small Thai town with our 11 animals. We had 13 for a long time, but lost 2 last year. One to illness, and the other from a cobra bite.

Saying that is a "thing" here in Thailand. Everyone will know what you mean. LOL.

You'll get different answers at different banks. None of them are on the same page, seem to make up their own rules, and it depends on who you talk to, or if they're in a good mood.

We were told once at Bangkok bank, that we needed to bring the Puu Yai (headman) of our village to vouch for us in order to get an account! The guy is always drunk, and requires whiskey and 1000 baht for him to go to the bank with you. If he has a wreck on his way there (1.5 hour drive), you'll also be responsible for damages.

We ended up opening an account with Krungsri (yellow bank).
