Thinking ahead to our May renewal of our non immigrant 0 (retirement) visa, I read somewhere that we can show proof of the pension we get from our former workplace for income verification.

What exactly would we need from the company?

TLDR : Answer Summary
For the renewal of your Non-immigrant O (retirement) visa in Thailand, you can use proof of your pension from your former workplace for income verification. Specifically, you would typically need an income affidavit, which can be obtained through your Embassy. Additionally, if your pension is transferred monthly to a Thai bank account and exceeds 65,000 baht (or equivalent), you may not need an affidavit or the 800,000 baht seasoned requirement. It's advisable to check with your specific Embassy for the exact documents and requirements necessary to provide this proof.

Okay and with that note from

I close the commenting, just to avoid all others jump on board to keep discussing the affidavits of income. We have to wait for an announcement of Immigration office how they going to deal with the fact that only 4 Embassies stopped giving this service to their citizens. Good luck and we hear from you how it went.

If you transfer that pension to Thai bank account monthly more than 65k baht (or equivalent ), you don’t need affidavit nor seasoned 800k baht.

I hope

would help for this detail...

Got it. Currently, our plan is to have the following ...

1. Certified letter confirming our pension amount from the company

2. Bank certification of our deposits (might be an issue because my husband's name is not on the account)

3. Bank statements for the past year

4. Income affidavit from the embassy.

We will see if we can renew without the affidavit, and if not, then provide it then. Our immigration office is Nakhon Si Thammarat. It's very Thai. Not touristy.

I like to follow the announcements of Immigration in Thailand. Those are the ones who give or deny your application, I read also lots of stories in lots of articles but NONE confirmed by Immigration.

Robert Lagas I read that income verification could be a certified letter on a letterhead from the company you are receiving it from. I have no idea where I read that, but I know I saw it in more than one article.
Robert *******
I understand the last sentence, but where did you read affidavit of income is no longer needed?

We do transfer it all into a Thai bank :)
Robert *******
The income affidavit is given by your Embassy, so contact your Embassy to ask what they need for proof to give this document.

Thai Immigration has NOT published what is accepted for income verification. Many rumors

No fact yet.

I can only tell you how it is, if you don't like to go BKK, no problem for me, but than for sure it will depend on the Immigration Officer and keep fingers crossed that Immigration will come with a statement before May.

Yep. We were planning on doing this, but really don't wanna go to BKK, when we meet the monthly financial requirements of 65k per person per month. We just don't have the 800k sitting around. We use our pension to live on.
Robert *******
The affidavit is valid for 6 months and the US embassy scheduled extra applications for this. Seeing you doing this in May,only 5 months away, get the affidavit this month.
Robert *******
Requirement of Immigration is still the Embassy affidavit for monthly income. There is no announcement of changing at Immigration after some embassies decided to stop giver the service. The only one who can help you now is the Immigration Officer at the desk, to allow or deny your documentation. Alternative is the minimum 800.000 Thb for 3 months in Thai bank prior the application date.

US Embassy needs no documentation. They are not giving income affidavits after Jan 1. We are considering doing pension documents.
