I agree 100% John. Most are either other nations trying to acquire Thailand's tourism economy and the other half are visa agents scrambling to generate business in light of recent changes to ed visa and how easy it is to apply for the Dtv without one and the next 5 years of not using an agent. 70k baht I was quoted for a Dtv visa and got it myself for 10k lol

Visa agents are getting desperate lately aren't they 😂😂 No we don't need an agent to help us re-enter on our 5 year visa lol. Thank you for the heads up anyway

Lol I had zero issues re-entering via airport the same day I flew out the country to Malaysia. Literally zero, she stamped my passport, I asked to make sure it was 6 months and that was that. My process was...

1) filled out the tdac online including my visa number

2) took 20k baht cash with me just in case they asked. They didn't ask.

3) passed them my Dtv visa document and my passport and that was all that was needed.

Malaysia didn't even stamp my passport as its all digital there now which worries me but seemed immigration didn't care. They also didn't ask any questions or care how long ide left the country for due to being on Dtv.

Of course people's experiences will differ. My advice is always take more than you think youl need so nothing can go wrong if they ask for stuff but a return ticket makes no sense on a 6 month entry

By current official terms on the Dtv it's 5 year validity and I don't think you need to keep applying for different soft power courses after you have it. But then nobodies sure of that long term I guess as it's never made sense to give a 5 year visa for three months soft power courses lol. But personally i think your 100% fine once you have it and their probably more bothered about you having the funds etc

I've been here years and never overstayed once. I think of my visa status here as a parole hearing, as in if I mess up it might put a big red flag on me that affects applications years later. In reality, it happens often with all sorts of people. I know literal millionaires that have came with families for holidays and had to pay a few days over stay fine due to messing up on dates/time. Like many have said here, the other more immediate issue is if you get stopped by the police and your on overstay as immigration jails are probably not very nice and deportation could result in a 99 year ban. My uncle lived here 7 years and got arrested, jailed and deported over cannabis about 4 months before they legalised it in Thailand and now has a 99 year ban from the country and has to live in neighbouring SE Asian countries as a result. If you care about staying in Thailand keeping a clean passport/visa/personal record is important.
