Got my DTV Workation Visa approved in Hanoi the other day (4 working days) flew back into Bangkok via Don Mueang Airport today and had no issues at immigration. Despite having an 11-year visa history with various types. Tourist visas, visa exemptions, education visas etc.
I was nearly refused entry 3 months ago via land border using a visa exemption and told to get a proper visa. Just wanted to share that applying for the DTV in Hanoi wasn’t a problem, even with a long visa history, and re-entering Thailand went smoothly with absolutely no questions asked.
Big thanks to everyone in the group for all the support and info—really appreciate it!
Flew into DMK from Jakarta today. It was my first entry on DTV. Presented DTV pdf printout with passport at the immigration and was let through without any questions.
I arrived into Phuket last night with DTV issued in UK. Flew from London to Phuket with a connection in Shanghai.
Absolutely no issues, no questions, no waiting. There were no queues anyway so I walked straight to the IO desk smiled and said hello, handed him my printed visa and my passport. He looked at them logged it on his computer, did the usual fingerprint and picture and then checked his stamp for the right date and stamped my passport and handed it all back to me.
No problems and no questions asked. This was my first entry using my DTV - workcation. It was issued in March.
Report/ experience share: European male DTV holder (Cultural Option) here. I recently re-entered TH for the first time in '25 via Suvarnabhumi. (1st time was via Train Lao - TH in late '24). Following questions asked: A) "Do you work remotely?" I said truthfully 'yes, remotely'. B) "How long do you stay in TH this time?" I said truthfully: 3 to 4 months. C) 'You changed Visa last year from another Visa to DTV? [Looking at lots of old stamps...]. I said: Yes.
-Then she stamped me. No 'welcome to Thailand' was heard this time.. Okay - I love 🫶 🇹🇭 you anyways, dear Thailand! (Guess I'm *still* in honeymoon phase ;)
