Luggage collection is after immigration … just saying. But yeah … might work if you go through immigration after midnight. Or maybe they are not quick enough to change the stamp at midnight sharp. Wouldn’t bet on it.
They wouldn’t notice anymore. It used to be that one had to upload recent visa stamps - so they could have noticed the Thai entry stamp without a corresponding exit stamp. But now this isn’t required anymore in the Thai eVisa system. Same goes for proof of flights. So I practically don’t see why people shouldn’t be able to apply with eVisa in their home countries while still on another “vacation” in Thailand. Sure they would have to leave and reenter to activate the DTV then.
Oh well. Maybe they will figure something out until then. I doubt immigration can re-issue a new eVisa (different department). I also doubt the original embassy will provide a corrected visa. Maybe immigration can transfer an eVisa into a visa stamped in the new passport with the original expiration date. But I have never heard that happen.
Either your employment contract has to directly indicate, or your employer has to separately confirm that you are free to work remotely (from Thailand). Not sure if semi-remote will cut it. Need to ask the consulate.
Thanks for sharing. I guess this proves that one can in fact apply for the DTV while still holding another valid visa - METV in your case. I always thought this shouldn’t be an obstacle.
