Scenario: One works in Singapore, but flys to Thailand every weekend or so. That would add up entry and exit stamps rather quickly, requiring a new passport inconviniently often. So: Any options on entering and leaving Thailand without stamps?

You can use the automated exit lanes if you are eligible and you will not receive an exit stamp.
For entry stamp, the only option is going through passport control and getting a stamp in your passport.
In America, when you apply for a passport, you can request a larger one with more pages for an additional fee.

Just to clarify, there is no additional fee for the larger US passport book (and it is now issued automatically if you're applying overseas, but applicants in the US can get one by ticking the appropriate box on the form).Terary **********

I just got a new US passport. Takes about 2 weeks. The passport is 52 pages. I hadn't realized that was 'extra pages' it doesn't feel that way. It's pretty easy process. One oddity is that you have to use 3 websites1) The actually application
2) Pay for the passport (some other US government website)
3) Pay for postage for the return of your passport. That site is in Thai. You can use google translate but I would recommend getting help from a Thai friend who "understands" the language.

There's never been an extra fee for the bigger book, but automatically issuing it to Americans abroad is something they started at the beginning of 2016 when they stopped offering extra page inserts.Reply to

I see. Thank you, Brandon. That's what I thought. On a different subject: Not sure I would feel comfortable using the automated exit lanes quite yet. An entry stamp without a corresponging exit stamp screams like problems down the road.Nongnuch ********

no problem with the automated exit and no stamp. Your details and the exit will be recorded in the central computer. You won't have any issues coming back and enter againFrank-Steven ***********

I would assume the coming back part they have figured out, yes. But (from past experiences) I would be worried about future encounters with more remote / rural immigration offices (for future extensions and such). I mean they don’t even get their processes and requirements straight and aligned across different offices.Reply to
