It says so right in the COE form. What exactly are you facing issues with? You put your departing airport in "first port of departure" and as "port of arrival" you put your arrival airport in Thailand, so either Bangkok or Phuket, I guess. If it is NOT a nonstop flight and you are transitting at some airport in between, you put this one under "last port before arrival in Thailand".

Arrival day counts as day 1. So you have to leave after 29 nights, which then is day 30. Or extend before that. But strictly speaking, there in no 30 day visa. Are you referring to visa exemption by any chance?

And as a side note: Don’t even get me started on that e-visa initiative. I think it is a great, long overdue measure to have an electronic / stickerless visa system. Unfortunately consulates in Germany seem to be at liberty not to take part in it. And they recently stated they don’t have plans to switch any time soon 🙁.

Sure. I was also able to hand in a paper application form. Does not change the fact that they replied that they do not issue STV right now, claiming that they are still waiting for something official. I’ll take its selectability in the e-visa system as a promising indicator, though.

That would be awesome. The STV could use a lot of tweaking! Thing for me is: I already sent all my document and passport and was planning on leaving shortly 🙁 We'll see.

Big current problem with the STV: Consulates don’t issue it at the moment. As often: Government talk, but no action. Consulates state they still waiting for something official about it really being extended. Annoying.

The officer is always right. But he is also wrong 😉 COVID extension have at no point ever been limited to only those unable to leave Thailand. There have been regular international flights out of the country throughout the whole pandemic. Just being somehow affected by some covid restrictions or inconveniences has been enough for thousands of successful applicants before. Next time talk to another officer or another office, is what I would do.

Which nationality / what embassy? Just write an email to your embassy asking for a letter. They will send you a reply stating that they are not in the business of issuing such letters. This email will then do for Thai Immigration.

Really? This old (false) argument again? It was NEVER a requirement of the COVID extension to proof unable to LEAVE. The mere fact the general pandemic / covid situation was still ongoing has been reason enough to get a covid extension. Even forms for it were worded as such. And there have always been flights out of Thailand throughout the entire pandemic. So that is that. You of all people should know that. And the rest isn’t as much about a crystal ball, but about understanding economics and politics. In the current situation, where there is no notable influx of tourists into an economy that is highly dependent on tourism: every foreign money spender already in country is highly welcome + the industry would get even more angry at the politicians if they forced even those few spenders out that are already here. All common sense really.

Of course if was. It cannot go / run out before the country is fully (i.e without any quarantine) reopened. Glad someone understands that amongst Thai decision-makers as well.
