What recent changes have been announced regarding the e-visa service for Thailand in Germany?
Just got this from the German Embassy for Thailand in Munich. I had appointment booked but it's been cancelled as they are joining the evisa service! Great news! Only in German sorry.... From 22nd November...
Answer summary
The German Embassy in Munich has announced the launch of an e-visa service starting from November 22nd. This change will simplify the visa application process, which previously required in-person appointments or mailing passports, practices which were often inconvenient and time-consuming.

About time! The old system, where one had to travel hundrets of miles for an appointment in person just to get a simple tourist visa (with appointments booked out many weeks in advance) or having to send in ones passport in the mail (not knowing if and when to get it back), this old system is long overdue for an overhaul. Glad to hear the consulates in Germany finally join the e-visa system!
