I had my clubs shipped from Florida. It was a disaster. I was charged $1400 for shipping and $300 inport duty. Not going to name the shipping company but they are well known. The clubs arrived in a box, 1 box, 1 bag 2 sets of clubs. I won’t make that mistake again.
I did not know what to do. My wife and I were moving to Thailand 2 years ago. We planned to take 4 suitcases in checked luggage. I wasn’t sure how to get my golf clubs with us. Because we already had the 4 suitcases, we thought it would be better to ship the clubs over. The internet was not much help as to how to pack the clubs for shipment and how to deal with Thai customs. Ultimately my daughter packed one golf bag and both sets of clubs all in one box. The shipping company screwed up big time because the clubs arrived in Bangkok and subsequently returned them back to Florida. The tracking info alerted me to the problem so we contacted the shipping company to return the clubs to Thailand and ultimately to my home. Then we got hit with the $1400 shipping charge and the $300 duty fee. The clubs arrived in good condition but it was a nightmare experience.
I wanted my golf clubs shipped from Florida. One set of clubs packed with a golf bag and a second set of just clubs all in one box cost me $1400 to ship plus $300 duty fee. These clubs were about 10 years old. I won’t ever do that again.
