If you want to be able to continue to travel in and out of Thailand nowadays, get the correct visa, avoid using short term tourists visas if you're not really a "tourist,"- ie own a business, have a girlfriend wife or child there, or rent a condo/ house long term; especially if you're over 50 and can get a " retirement " visa as its referred to ( i know the official name;) and are doing t visa extensions and border bounce.

Ann Parris Estill so you're planning on staying long term on a tourist exemption and extensions? And border bouncing??

You might want to do more research because this is exactly what Thailands clampdown and enforcement is trying to stop. ( long stay tourists on tourist visas. )

Depending on your "work"- a dtv may be your option ?

1 without the appropriate visa your airline may refuse boarding ( for eg
*****
days for TH.)

2 without a ticket back ( in the system) nobody would know if you need a visa or not?and would probably insist on one especially Th

3 authorities worldwide are aware of the "fake ( real) " ticket sites so beware of them now

4 return flights amendable might be your option.

5 be aware Thailand in particular is enforcing more to stop basically non- tourists using tourist exemption stamps and extensions. You could be refused on any future border bounce nowadays.

The amount of out of date misinformation offered here is astounding. For one it all depends on your un-stated nationality and age to some extent. Thailand is actively seeking to stop guys over 50 doing exactly what you're trying to do, which essentially translated is stay longer than just as a tourist?

The exemption will reduce to 30 days. Immigration will be enforcing to stop people bouncing in and out. Go to Thai Embassy site. And stop listening to guys in groups who may well be trying to help- but are not Thailand Immigration and are not up to date. Because some guy did what you're asking possibility of, in 1995 or 2022 does not mean you can now. Good luck. Happy travels.

The sheer number of people considering relocating to other countries who dont research laws, customs, and matters such as phone, Internet, banking, visas and employment visas etc, and ask in groups for "ideas" absolutely astounds me. Its genuinely baffling. Its as if Google and sites like the Thailand Embassy dont exist; and its only true if Yanis the youtuber from York says his mate did it in 1985 and Dave from Derby says "yeah you can do that here. " Do people think because its Asia that wifi, banks and businesses don't exist here? Im genuinely interested- so comment if you'd like to if you read this.

Listen to the expat bar owners and their vlogger mates and those trying to sell units in complexes and there is only one season. "High season. " which is now two weeks mid Dec to very early January in Pattaya. Songkran lasts longer hahahaha.

For a "real" answer go to Thai Embassy site to check options available to "you."

Portia Kay the %s are pretty much the same in Thailand, as you would earn only slightly more than a local Thai. Ie you spend %of what you earn on accommodation travel food insurance *do NOT consider coming without it*
