Henry, If I understand you correctly it’s a 3-step process.

1. Have his Aussie marriage certificate translated and the translation certified at the MFA

2. Have the Aussie embassy certify his Aussie marriage, based on the above document

3. Have the MFA translate and certify the Aussie certification

Is that correct?

This is discretionary and will require a valid reason, like you travel alot on business and will be held up when obtaining visa, or you travel to two countries where they would not let you in with the other countries stamp in your passport.

What type of visa are applying for? Thai spouse (marriage) over 50 (retirement) etc

Sorry, it takes 7 days to order and receive the statement.

BTW my office will accept my bank passbook, but it needs to be updated monthly. Worth asking immigration for the future.

I think the issue is he wants over 6 months, these can't be done locally but in Bangkok. My local branch always give me a 7 working turn around

what type of visa or visa ext did you have? if it's based on a Thai wife there should be a problem.
