I’m planning to move to Bangkok in January. Is the Thai Privilege Card worth purchasing as a visa? Or would i be better off just doing the DTV and renewing after 5 years?

What is the cheapest visa to get for a couple wanting to live in Thailand for the next five years sporadically, like 3 months to 9 months a year. Would it be cheaper to just stay 30 days and extend and do visa runs to neighboring countries or apply for a retirement visa or some kind of digital nomad visa or something else I haven’t considered? Cheaper the better is our priority. We don’t mind traveling and living in neighboring countries.

Has anyone applied for one of the visas while IN Thailand after a tourist visa? If so can you apply online and use the embassy location where you are (in Thailand) or do you have to leave first and come back?

Hi Members,

I'm waiting for my DTV visa but that doesn't seem to work out.

I've been on entry stamps since the end of October and did one border run.

If I don't get my DTV visa, can I still leave the country and apply for a tourist visa? And how long is that for?

TIA!

What are the pros or cons of applying for the DTV instead of applying for non-o immigrant spousal extension? I have been doing the spousal for a decade but DTV sounds maybe easier? TIA

Deciding whether to apply for DTV under Muay Thai or a cooking class. For Muay Thai I've been in contact with Tiger Eye gym in Bangkok and they seem responsible and professional. For cooking I'm looking at Bangkok Cooking Academy, also seems legit. I'm kind of leaning more towards cooking because it's something I've always wanted to learn but the courses are a month long. What happens once you've complete the month long course? Do you have to keep signing up for month long courses? With Muay Thai I've dabbled in it before and I wouldn't mind doing it 1-2 times a week long term.

I arrived in Suvarnabhumi on the 7th Sept. I have travelled to Kuchinarai, Udon Thani and Maha Sarakham. Tonight I travel to Pattaya to meet friends. My passport says I was to leave Thailand on the 6th Oct. What are my options? I've been coming to Thailand since 1967 and have a Thai partner of 8 years. I intend leaving Thailand on 26th Oct.

I would like to apply for Non-Immigrant Visa-O-A for retirement. I understand I need medical insurance to cover 40k Bahts for out-patient and 400k Bahts for in-patient. I have pre-existing condition (diabetes) and am not sure if I can get health insurance.

However, my travel insurance covers hospitalisation due to injury or illness (for a trip of up to six months. Is this travel insurance coverage is acceptable for the O-A visa?

Thank you in advance for any advise.

I seem close to getting the LTR visa (currently “under consideration by government agencies”) but it has taken 3 months to reach this stage and my current O visa based on retirement expires on December 31.

Is there any alternative to renewing the O visa for another year (e.g. grace period for late renewal with a small penalty or tourist visa which can be converted back to O visa at a later date?) so that I can buy a little time as the LTR visa process comes to an end?

Thanks.

Hello! My partner is here on a 60 days tourist visa obtained in London prior to arrival. His visa stamp says 9 February for departure. We need to extend his visa for another week after that. Are there any options as I know Covid extension seems to be discontinued now? Thanks so much for your help.
