It depends on your situation there are many points to consider :

1) Thai Embassy in Indonesia and Malaysia seem little bit easier to approve than others ( just my opinion)

2) Have u ever visited any country neighbour ? You need at least 7-10 days in the country so why take this chance to visit the country that you always want to visit.

3) in term of travel cost: Vietnam, Cambodia , Laos and Malaysia are the economic options

There is not best country but you have to choose the suitable one for yourself

There are many cheap flights from Bkk to Vietnam : Hanoi , HCM , da nang … specially Phu Quoc Island where u have visa exemption for many countries. Otherwise you may need evisa ( it takes 5-7 working to apply ) and living costs are quite similar to Thailand

Actually I think showing your monthly revenue/income on your bank statements of 3-6 months is also as important as having 500k.

Me and my friends got approval with 500k held less than 1 months ( we all applied in Vietnam )

Actually in July I applied for 1 friend in Hanoi and in August another one in HCM in Vietnam both got approval with tiger eye Muy Thai 1 month courses

Entry rejection and deportation are 2 different situations:

- entry rejection : when you arrive , officer looks at your history and suspect that you don’t come to Thailand for pure tourist purpose ( many times visa run for example). They will stamp a rejected stamp on your passport and send you back to where you came from. But you are not blacklisted. If you wait for a while then you can come back. If you are in this situation u still can apply for all other types of visa just need a very solid documents

- deportation: when you do something illegal and get caught by the police ( illegal work , drugs …. ) then you are deported and also blacklisted. To erase blacklist it’s very expensive and difficult these days.
