it was Nakhon Phanom. As I said the bank account with the banked money was different to the one that showed monthly transfers. They only checked the monthly transfers and not the banjed money account.

Just for interest and it might not be the case for you but I just changed from banked money to 12 monthly payments of baht. I got my extension without anyone checking that I had met the terms of my previous years extension by leaving 800k for 3 months after getting it and not letting it go below 400k for the remainder of the year. I still had the money banked in case of an issue but it was in a completely different account to anything the officer saw.

Not worth risking a whole load of bother for 1000 baht.

it has changed dramatically very recently. Brand new much larger office just beyond Makro. No ques when I have been and helpful staff. In the past it has been dreadful and, I agree, Sakhon Nakhon Officers are good and ine spoke perfect English when I went.

what I was trying to get across is that Immigration were certainly aware of the tm6 number allocated to entrants to the Kingdom. I was told that even after it was suspended entrants were still allocated a number and they told me what mine was. That was Nakhon Phanom and if you have not visited the City you have missed out on something great.
