I applied for my DTV visa online at the Cambodian embassy in Phnom Penh on October 22 at 11 AM, the same day they announced it would take 10 working days to process. I received it on October 30 at 11:21 PM. In total, it took 9 calendar days, including 6 working days and 3 holidays.

Here's my list of submitted documents:

Professional CV

Recommendation letters from two companies

Company registration documents for both companies

Pay slips from both companies

One-month Thai bank statement (account with minimal activity, deposit made on October 20)

Employee Contract From Both Companies .

I've just done my extension based on marriage at Jomtiem today.

Might be of interest to some:

I downloaded TM7 form from Immigration website and filled in at home to save a bit of time. The form has changed so I had to fill in 2 new ones there. You would have thought the immigration website would be up to date 🤔

They also asked if the money, I bring it over monthly, was from a pension. I said yes and she asked for proof which I didn't have. As this is my 5 th renewal she let it go but said it is a new requirement to show where the money is generated from. My guess would be it's to do with this tax thing that's apparently coming in🤔

I have just been told by Taipei that I need to provide minimum 6 months bank balance. But it seems others were granted DTV with one month and an ending balance 500k. Perhaps this is an example of better not to ask? But traveling there an applying without the necessary material would be costly.

Hi everyone,

I applyed for the 3 months non O visa valid until 22 October 2024. I already extend it until 22 October 2025.

Can I go out of Thailand when I want or I have to wait the end of the first 3 months?

Thanks for your help.

Roger.

I'm from the US. I heard you can get a non-immigration O visa while still in your home country before coming to Thailand and then changing it to a 1 year retirement O visa. I heard you can do this using the E-Visa website. Is this a good idea to avoid the hassle of trying to get a bank account while in Thailand with a tourist visa?

DTV Soft Power Question:

If I get my DTV approved to attend Muay Thai training, and I enter Thailand and begin the training, and then I leave Thailand before the 180-day mark, and then re-enter Thailand, will the immigration officer at the airport in Bangkok know that I obtained the DTV to take Muay Thai classes and ask for an updated letter showing that I will continue my training? Or will the immigration officer only see that I have a DTV in my passport and not know the reason I was given the visa, and let me enter without checking anything?

Will the immigration officers at the airports/land crossings be able to tell who got the DTV for remote work and who go it for soft power reasons?

No opinions please, just facts. Thank you!

Hello all,

My 5 years "elite" visa runs out in six months. Due to covid, I was offered a free six months extension. But they cannot process that in Krabi. According to Thai Elite I will have to fly to BKK to get that extension. Seems like a bit of pain for only 6 months extension. I purchased my current visa when I was 48. Now I am 53 and I can apply for a retirement visa instead. Canadian. Thai bank account balance not an issue. My wife has the same visa. The plan is to have her tag onto my retirement visa.

Only two questions, please. 1- Will wee need to leave the country and come back? 2- Any advice on how to get this done smoothly?

Thank you.
