I am currently in Thailand and I am interested in the DTV. I have read a lot about the soft power options one of them being proof of a hospital appointment.

I have a hospital appointment in Nakhon Phanom in October and a permanent address both in UK and Thailand.

If i was to return to the UK for a few weeks and apply for the dtv on the basis of that hospital appointment does anyone know if it would be granted or not?

Personally I feel it is a little unlikely to get a 5 year Visa on the strength of one hospital appointment but I had to ask the question to experts.

Would a course of treatment say for dental implants qualify?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is in Thailand and considering applying for a DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) based on a hospital appointment in Nakhon Phanom. They question whether this appointment would be enough to secure a five-year visa, especially if they return to the UK for a few weeks before applying. Community responses suggest that the user must exit Thailand to apply, and that obtaining a letter from the hospital detailing ongoing treatment could strengthen their application.

My understanding is that you have to leave Thailand before you can apply. Because you have an entry record in Thailand but no exit record. The Thai Consulate knows this.

They don’t know this. The MFA is separate from Immigration. While they could theoretically check, this is not being done.

You can try and have them write you a letter saying that “Mr X is a patient in our care and will have an ongoing treatment over the period of the next 12 months, receiving dental implants and related medical treatment on average of one appointment per month.” This should be more than sufficient IF the hospital/clinic agrees to this.
