Hello, I re-entered Suvarnabhumi on 29 November and re-newed my non-o 1 year extension to stay today at Jomtiem, dated 6 December in my passport. What date will be used for counting the clock down for 90 day reporting next time, 29 November or 6 December please. Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The countdown for the 90-day reporting generally starts from the date of entry into Thailand, which in your case would be 29 November. However, some community members suggest checking any slips provided by immigration or confirming directly with immigration, as the date could also be counted from when you last interacted with them, which is 6 December in your case. To avoid potential fines, it's recommended to check or report earlier if unsure.

I had a similar situation in Chiang Mai last year and was told it's 90 days from when you were last at immigration ie for you use 6th Dec date as its 90 days from your last notification at immigration. This may cause flak as everyone else seems to have said 90 days since you arrived ....... helmet on, incoming 👀

If in doubt go at the earliest date, you vil not be fined coming to early, only fined when coming to late.

Check in the back of your passport. If immigration put a wee slip in there with your next reporting date then follow that. If they didn't then it's 90 days from when you entered the country with the day of entry being day 1.

immi didn't put a slip in my passport and my reporting date is 90 days after I got my 1 year extension

It's not called a 90 day report for nothing. 90 consecutive days within Thailand unless you get an extension in which case immigration will give you notification of when it is due.

thanks I know what a 90 day report is but my question was does it start when I arrived in Thailand or when the new I year extension date is stamped in passport
Nick ************
@Barry *******
when you are sitting at immigration getting your 12 month extension stamp, if they do not put a notification to you to keep in your passport just ask them.

They will attach paper on your passport, with due date of 90 days

@Giuseppe *********
they will do this at immigration when I collect passport next week ? Thanks

@Barry *******
It's 90 days from entry at Suvarnabhumi and they will most probably NOT attach "a paper" on your passport.

Edit: You get this slip only when reporting the 90 days, for your next visit.

It starts to count 90 days from entering Thailand.

thanks, I thought the date of getting a new 1 year extension would re-set and override that but it appears not

I always ask the immigration to reset it when I pick up my visa.

didn't know you could thanks

@Barry *******
you can't get the 90-days clock set back to that date on Immigration 6 December, because it is a lot more than 15 days away from being due (90 started to count from Non 29). however you are free to ask them
Adam ******
@Nongnuch *******
They've done it for me.

@Adam *****
means, if you entered November 29, your 90-days report would become due on February 28. So why would Immigration set the date back if you visited them on December 6th? It's a draw of luck. Some Immigrations do it, but most of the 85 Immigration offices in Thailand just are not willing to do that
Adam ******
@Nongnuch *******
I only use one of the eighty-five and they reset my 90 days when they handed me the new extension.
Nongnuch ********
@Adam *****
that's exactly how it works. If you were applying 20 days before due date, they won't set that due date back onto the day of your application to an extension. . . that due date would remain the same
Nongnuch ********
@Adam *****
yeah, sometimes they do it. They have done it for me in the past. But I always was within the 15 days limit on the day I visited Immigration to apply my next 1-year extension of stay

29th November, i guess, sometimes immigration put a slip in your passport informing of 90 day due date
