Hi, I’m visiting Thailand from Australia and did an e-visa for 84 days (expires early October) but at the airport my stamp at the airport has an expiry date of 10 Sept and hand written notation saying evisa. Do I need to worry? Thanks

Hello,

I got my non o visa based on marriage on the thai e-visa website via London UK.

I’m so very happy about this and also grateful from all the feedback I have had from you all to help me.

Thank you to you all.

My visa says it’s valid from July 13th to October 10th 2025.

And it’s got me thinking.

I planned to return on September 25th 2025 at the end of my season for several months.

However I thinking of a quick trip earlier as I’ve mentioned in my previous posts I work in the tourism industry which is very slow in the UK with sales down this year.

Hence I have no work from July 30th to August 17th 2025.

And I have already booked flights to return at the end of the season to enter Thailand on September 25th 2025 to stay for 6-7 months.

Can I do the following as I don’t want to wait in London without work for 17 days from July 31st to mid August & I’d rather be with my wife.

Fly to Thailand entering on July 31st 2025 for 2 weeks of August.

Apply for my visa extension in those first 2 weeks of August.

Then fly back to the UK to work with a reentry permit.

And return to Thailand entering on September 25th 2025 for my long stay.

When do I have to season the 400,000baht in a thai bank account?

(I already have an SCB bank account now)

Is it on the day I plan to I arrive back August 31st?

Or should it be before that in my case?

Also an extra question after I arrive back on September 25th 2025 can I use another re-entry permit to visit my mother who has been unwell in Australia in mid October as it is her and my birthday then?

Is any of this possible?

Thank you so much 🙏

Hi all, I have submitted my application through an agent for approval in Hanoi. I submitted 3 months worth of bank statements, which although has a final balance of over 500,000, for the last 2 months, the first month is below that (about 430,000). Has anyone done something similar at Hanoi and been approved?

I’ve enjoyed my first 60 days in Thailand, received my 30 day extension today. I will fly to Hanoi when my time is up. Can I apply for a Thai retirement visa while in Hanoi, or do I have to return to USA to accomplish that. Thanks.

My yearly extension of stay for non-O marriage ends Sept 4th.

I’ll leave Thailand next week and come back end of August 20th, by plane.

Then I’ll leave Thailand again Sept. 16th to my home country (Germany) and come back in November.

What will happen August 20th when I enter Thailand (by plane)

1. with a Reentry Permit: Can I stay until September 19th (after expiry Sept 4th of my extension of stay)?

2. without a Reentry Permit: Will a get a normal 60 day visa-exemption stay ? (I understand that the extension of stay becomes invalid)

Thanks in advance.

Background:

My travel schedule makes it difficult to do the extension as usual b/c my travel collides with the timelines for application and ‘under consideration’ period.

So my idea is to get a new Non-Imm o visa (marriage) multi-entry yearly in my home country before returning in Nov.

The visa itself shouldn’t be a problem. I clearly fulfill all the requirements and did it a few times before .

(sorry, if answered before. I failed to find it)

I was supposed to extend my extension of stay based on marriage a month ago, but I messed up the seasoning of funds due to some banking fees and card charges and the amount dipped under the 400k.

Since I didn't have much time to plan an alternative I flew out, stayed in another country for a few days and flew back in on a visa exempt entry.

I then started to prepare the documents for my new initial Non-O. I followed a document that is available on the immigration website and it indicated that I pretty much just need the 400k in the bank on the day of the application.

When I went to the Chiang Mai immigration office to ask for their list of requirements, they gave me a paper that lists "proof of saving transfer from abroad".

So which is it? Do they really require this proof of funds transferred from abroad? My funds have been in Thailand for a few years now and have been transferred between bank accounts, so proving that isn't really an option now.

Can't really see any other way forward other than sending it out and back in again. Thoughts?

Another one. The document online says I should apply at least 15 days before my current stamp expires, whereas the Chiang Mai immigration's document says "at least 15 working days" quite the difference.

Can someone please confirm that a re-entry permit can be purchased and used for a 90 day Non-O visit Thai family visa. I may need to leave and re-enter within the 90 days. I do understand that the visa will still expire 90 days after first entry.

I’m on a 60 day extension of a 90 day non o. Need to apply for a 1 year marriage extension. My 2 month funds seasoning is up on the exact day my leave expires. Is it still possible to apply? Someone told me need 14 days left on leave when applying. Thanks in advance for any info.

My wife and I are from the USA and we received our Non-O (over 50) visas this week, with different dates because I had to resubmit my application. We have a flight to Thailand in just over a week, and we plan to settle in Pattaya initially.

My big concern now is how to open Thai bank accounts, and particularly in how to open them quickly enough for our visas not to expire before the 60 day seasoning period is over.

As I understand it, we need Thai sim cards, passports, visas, etc. to open the accounts (preferably with Kasikorn bank), but I'm unclear on the residence requirement.

If I have it right, then the TM30 form will be done initially by our hotel upon arrival, but it seems that's not enough for the bank to open an account.

Rather, it seems we need a Thai Certificate of Residence (TM13) from the Thai Immigration Office to open the bank account, which if I understand correctly, requires a rental/lease agreement (along with a new TM30 from the owner).

To complicate things even further, it seems that it might not even be possible to get a Certificate of Residence without living in said residence for several months, unless you are in a particular jurisdiction where the immigration officer might break the rules, possibly with the encouragement of an agent.

Assuming you get a TM13, it seems that it takes two to three weeks to actually get it, (by mail only ?).

Maybe I have this wrong, but that's why I'm asking. That said, I have a few questions:

1) Do our 90 days start with what's on our visas or do they start upon our arrival in Thailand?

2) Is a TM30 from a hotel enough to open a bank account or is a TM13 from Immigration required?

3) Can you get a TM13 from the Immigration Office with a TM30 from a hotel or is a signed rental/lease agreement required?

4) Can you get a TM13 at the Pattaya (Chonburi) office without living in a rental for an extended period of time, or do you need the assistance of an agent to avoid the waiting period in a residence (if there even is one)?

5) Must you get theTM13 by mail, and does it actually take two to three weeks to arrive?

5) Assuming a hotel TM30 isn't enough for the bank (as discussed above), then what's the fastest (recommended) way to quickly obtain a signed rental/lease agreement?

6) Am I missing anything regarding how to open our Thai bank accounts as quickly as possible?

Thank you everyone!
