At some time in the future are we going to see extensions turned down because the 3 week/month course of study or medical treatment has been completed?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Concerns have been raised about whether future visa extensions might be denied after completing specific short-term courses of study or medical treatments. However, comments suggest that as long as the visa has been obtained, extensions should not be affected by the completion of these courses. Existing visa holders are likely to be 'grandfathered in' under current rules, and any changes to visa conditions will not retroactively apply to them.

The rules may change in the future, but for those who have already acquired the visa, it’s a five-year multiple-entry visa. The rules cannot be changed for them; they are grandfathered in. If any new requirements arise for the visa extension while at immigration, a quick trip across the border will eliminate those requirements cause it’s a multiple entry for 5 years. What these people already paid the money for.

is exactly.

That won’t happened if you get the visa.

you have 0 evidence to back this up so don't say it wont happen if you get the visa since you have 0 idea if that is true or not. Remember, immigration is a separate entity and they can do whatever they want and ask for proof of enrollment in your school / program when you try to re-enter. The fact is no one knows the answer to his question.

lol well anyways, thanks for sharing your strong opinion no one asked for. Greg Lagne said it best below. By the sounds of it you don’t have much experience being here and your on an Ed visa so good luck.

Its not an opinion and I don't care if you asked for it or not. Tired of people making misleading statements like they are working for immigration. You stated a fact that you have no evidence to back up. Telling someone it won't happen when you have no idea if it will or wont is just ridiculous. Immigration can do what they want and deny for whatever reason. In fact, if they want to see your course and its finished I think they are well in their rights to deny you. Sorry that you're butt hurt over my comment. I have many years of experience in Thailand. Greg's comment is also coming from his opinion stated as a fact....no one has held this visa and done an extension. What does "your on an Ed visa so good luck" mean? lol I think you should just go to bed.

I asked you question. I did not assume anything? If i had said you couldn't know that it would have been an assumption but not a foolish one. I hope that clears things up for you.

Soon Thailand will wake you and realize they have made plenty of mistakes with the rules of this visa (any others)

If you are watching the news flow, the Prime Minister who introduced this and other visa changes and changes to the Tax system, just got sacked by the constitution court! Good luck everyone. I would not be surprised if DTV is withdraw.

Anything is possible. Get some popcorn and relax. However it's doubtful that the DTV will be "withdrawn," as Pheu Thai has pushed for relaxed visas since its inception as a political party.
