I beleive you can apply for your Thai pass before you leave Thailand which would probably make it easier for you.

This is certainly a lot better but my first application was rejected I suspect because my passport number had changed.

Find a car you want. Pay. Then get weeks of harrassment and stress from LTO and immigration over transferring your name to the BLUE book. Dont forget insurance. Mr prakan very helpful.

that may well be true as it is for so many other things. It doesn't change the fact that official tm30 rules have been relaxed.

that is somewhat different to just staying away for a few days. A while ago I extended in Bangkok and my local io made me file tm30 again. Recently I did the same and they did not require tm30.

I mean if you have filed tm30 at your local immigration office where you normally reside there is no requirement to refile when you travel around the Kingdom and return home. If you leave the country then you do need to refile. Any hotel or resort you stay at should file tm30 for you but it is never clear whether they do or not.
