Hi all, I'll apply for 1yr extension for non immigrant retired Visa O - 90 days. Do you experienced in Phuket immigration office how long from submitting application does it take to receive it?
Evening group. Has anyone had issues with the 65,000 Thai Baht monthly deposit method to renew your retirement visa? I have my Retirement Visa and have since been depositing over 65k baht into my thai bank account since having my Visa.
Has anyone had issue with renewing the retirement visa with this method at Phuket immigration?
1. Does it matter which immigration office (softpower)?
2. TM30 never filed, Problem?
I have the softpower Visa, do I have to go to the immigration office near my muay thai gym (Phuket) or can I also go to (Koh Samui)? I mean do they check if you actually train there?
Also I have been living with my girlfriend, that owns a house and she has not filed a TM30 in 3 months, is it a problem? Or just stay at a hotel for one night and get a TM30 from there, no questions asked?
How strict are they at the immigration offices about softpower DTVs there?
I have a 12 month O-A visa , runs out on 17th April this year. I have extended my health insurance and intend to re enter Thailand before 17th. I know that I will be stamped in for a further 12months ( or to the end of my insurance cover). I will get a multi entry permit at Phuket immigration so I can leave and return after that and protect my visa. I know I will need to show my visa , passport, copies of passport and TM30, and of course there will be the fee. What other documents might I need and is there a form to fill out?
For 180 day reporting with DTV. Is it just fill the TM47 again as I did for 90 days or is it more difficult? I’m in Phuket this week and was hoping to do it here but maybe it’s easier to drive to Laos boarder when I fly home on Friday.
It would appear that Immigrations came out with TWO options people can follow concerning flight cancellations/overstay
Option 1 - If you want to reschedule your flight and exit thailand,
You reschedule your flight, show up at the airport, show proof your flight was cancelled and it appears passport control will waive the overstay fine and let you stamp out to leave.
Option 2 - IF you want to get an in country "extension of stay" based on flight cancellation at the immigration office serving the area where you stay.
In order to do this option you have to get a letter from your embassy requesting an extension because this 30 day extension is based on the embassy request clause 2.8
You take the embassy letter, filled out TM7 (application for extension), proof your flight was cancelled and go to the immigration office
If you have an overstay from this situation you WILL BE CHARGED for it at 500baht a day, but once you clear the overstay fine you can apply for the 30 day 'embassy request' extension for 1900baht
At this time it would appear the only option for an in country extension that immigrations is allowing is via the embassy request clause ( clause 2.8 )
Don’t know the reason as to why yet but the drive through service at Phuket Town immigration will close as of February 14th 2026. The last day of service will be the 13th.
