Yesterday I applied at Phuket Immigration to change my visa from a TV 60+ 30 to a Non O based on retirement.

They asked me for 3 more documents that weren’t on the list of requirements.

1. Landlord passport copy.

2. Landlord house book.

3. Landlord Company Business information.

Just a heads up for anyone doing the same.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A recent applicant for a Non-O visa based on retirement in Phuket reported being asked for extra documents during their application process. Specifically, they needed copies of their landlord's passport, house book, and business information, which were not listed in the usual requirements. Other commenters highlighted the importance of having a TM30 filed and suggested that renting from a foreigner could complicate the document requirements.

Well glad you got to apply for the 90 day non-O visa. Did you get an under consideration stamp in your passport or did they write on the receipt for 2000baht when you come back to get the results?

@Peter *******
you said you applied for the 90 day Non-O yesterday, were sold an extension and charged for the Non-O visa fee, why did you have an extension stamp in your passport dated March 17th?

I didn’t get any stamps 2 days ago when applying for the Non O.

I know I applied a little bit early for the O visa because of the public holidays coming up.

I was originally allowed in on my TV up to 11th April. Applied for the extra 30 days on the 17th March.

they can even do a 'home visit' during the under consideration period where they call you and come out and see that you really live where you do 😮 So if they do that don't freak out, it's normal too

He told me to come back at the end of my TV extension of stay which is 11th May and to bring the receipt.

I received 2 receipts, one for 2000 and one for 1900.

Is this normal procedure Tod?

sounds like you rent from a foreigner 😕 Did you have a TM30 filed at that address and a lease? That usually is more than enough for them.. BUT they are known to be persnickety sometimes

@Tod ********
Yes, that’s the first thing he asked me after looking at the lease and at the TM30

@Peter *******
so your landlord should report you and get the document from immigration.

@Peter *******
and you had the TM30 filed?

@Tod ********
Yes definitely, I went to Immigration at Patong together with the landlord to get

@Peter *******
well it wouldn't be the first time i saw an immigration office ask for documentation that wasn't on the list of requirements

That clause at the bottom of almost every police order that says "or other documentation deemed appropriate by the issuing officer" is a catch all clause where they can ask for anything really

Yes, I told him it wasn’t on the list which was in fact pinned on his window in front of me.

His reply was…..“well I want it”.
