I know Phuket since 1990. Crying your eyes out now. Is better even in Pattaya now.yoy can find nice places outside the city. Even if the city is expanding, there is still greenery closer then you think. Only beaches are

New condos are getting smaller and smaller... if you buy à good older condo, you will not loose on resale, expecially, with seaview. Meanwhile you rent out without paying ridiculous taxes, like in Europe.

You need contract for 12 months, a year extension. Your contract must not been made so long.

In Jomtien, they told us, not necessary,big returning to registered address, other place or abroad. My wife came back, did also her 90days, on line, no problem.

Do I need to report my return to immigration after staying in a hotel in Bangkok?

If you registered at immigration as living in Pattaya, no need. I did go, last year, after being abroad for a month. They registered again in Jomtien, but said, there was no need to do again. I do use, my drivers licence, when going to hotel here. Also, on your next 90 days, you fill your actual again, anyway.
