Very stressful, because I have to arrange this for my retirement visa, monthly method.
With all alarming news, about BKK bank freezing accounts, I decided to do the transfer, early in the month, if something goes wrong, I can still find a solution.
Today I send, as usual, as I am doing for many years now, my monthly transfer to my BKK bank account. After proceeding, I get a few minutes later, a mail, that BKK bank refused the transfer.
Reason should be, that name of account is not correct. Ok, although this has not been a problem for all these these years, I see that on Wise, middle name is missing. I put the middle name, and Wise send it again.
It is now said, the transfer is done, and should be in my account in minutes.
5 minutes later, this time, the whole transfer is definitely cancelled.
I not know what to do here. I need that amount in my account for the end of the month, otherwise, my visa will not be renewed next year. Neither my wife, who is here on my visa.

I changed the name, deleted old recipient.
Things got worse. Now it is in account in seconds. No international transfer anymore, although I put for living in Thailand.

Check ur BBL statement via the app for exact name - then cancel the first and do a new transfer using the exact spelling. Should be fine after that. Recent policy changes likely resulted in some name checking thing which screwed things up.

Just set up a new bank transfer. The same happened to me and I just set up a new transfer to that same account and it went in in 20 minutes

Yeah that’s weird, for me it worked. I’m married to a Thai and have been to my bank in Thailand to confirm my identity and phone number.

I had the same issue. But less than 50k THB work for me.
If you have SCB bank account, try with that. Received within fews seconds and ok for over 100k THB as well.

Same thing happened to me 4-5 times trying to bring money down from Canada, same as counts as for the last umpteenth years, same messages, wrong name, etc etc etc. Wise and BBL bank, then cancelling my transfer.
Changed my details to another bank with Wise and the transfer shot through like a Bondi tram.. Thai mates of my wife can’t even transfer from one account in BBL to another in BBL.. Dunno what the drum is, but has stuffed up heaps of people

My monthly payment was deposited from uk into my BB this morning 23 hours after initiating transfer as usual. I am unable to check how it is coded as I have been denied access to my banking app. Can't do anything about that until I get back to Thailand next month.

wrong if you actually read the news and listen it’s the west tightening up on transfers because like Germany they can’t even keep up with their welfare payments monthly. The west are restricting transfers and one way is to bring in the name must exactly match the transfer account.Soon you will be limited on amounts you can transfer and they will be held for 24 hrs for investigation to why you transfer it.

Yes, but this is Wise related. They now do international, only to Kasikorn bank. So BKK gets is national. Why my name is not accepted for firt time, has maybe nothing to do with that.Jay *******

wise has been using intermediary banks in Thailand for a long time. Many of my transfers through intermediary banks to Bangkok bank were marked as a foreign transaction before. It may be a wise problem, but I highly doubt it as the problems seem to be almost 100% isolated to Bangkok bank.Reply to

That would be my advise to. bangkok bank is the biggest bank in all the banking scams and accounts. they are now in the attention of the media so they can not loose face ?? ( as if the one giving these accounts is not the one to blame ? ) and now they are going to prove how correct they are. Looking from the other side, i think many people, included myself, had problems with bangkok bank when there was a minor change with the name on the passport and suddenly it was like was going to scam that bank or ?? and this happened 2 times. first time about 11 years ago , when the third name of my first name became only the letter E. instead of the full part of the name. Ok this was a major change for those at bankkok bank but somewhat understandable. 2nd time about 3 year ago , when i got the new passport and the E. was not having the dot nomore................... so yeah once again bangkok bank saved the economy by blocking the account untill i went back to let them fill in 99 forms , needed to sign 25 times and than all was good, catastroph avoided. in Belgium when i went to the bank for some exchange and so they saw the name change in the passport , they changed it in the pc , scanned the passport and done.............Paul ********

they frozen my bankaccount also because i found out the number of my phone stay on the name of my wife..... I hear this after i go to the Bangkok bank...after change it by the provider i go back..must sign some papers of cource and no problems anymore..so my advice is to just go to the bank and ask what's wrong..they will be happy to help you with that...Pertti **********
