What should I do if I receive a notification for an early 90-day report while on a retirement visa in Thailand?

I have a very urgent problem. I am on retirement visa, and my wife following. For the first time we had visa, we left the country around the 5 th March. We came back the 7 th April, had re entry permit, went to immigration to confirm our adres, (not same I think as 90 days report).

Now We both do our report on line. But today I got notification that I have to report again before the INITIAL date of 15 th May. I been told that when you leave the country, they start to count when you come back.

Now for me this is no problem, if I already have to report now, but my wife was due to report when we were in Europe, and she got a message too. So now she is late a month, when we thought she be good again 3 month after re entry.

We not know what to do now.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The 90-day reporting countdown for Thai visas begins on the day you re-enter Thailand. If you receive a notification to report early, it could be due to a glitch in the immigration system; however, you should report according to the dates calculated from your re-entry. Your wife, who is late on her report due to being abroad, will face a fine of 2000 THB if late, but this is manageable. Ensure a TM30 form is submitted when you return, as this is necessary for using the online reporting system.

okay sorry to have deleted your comment

BUT with the new system the first 90 day report does NOT have to be done in person. A TM30 has to be filed and then you're good to use the system when your 90 day report is due whether it's the first one ever or the first one since you've come back from out of the country.

The new system only requires that you have a TM30 filed to use it

Cool, glad to hear it. It was always a dumb feature. Now if I could get them to take my yellow book and forget about the TM30, we could get really efficient.

that new 90 day online reporting system will send messages even if you're out of the country and even if you came in and reset the 90 day count down.

DON'T pay any attention to it, your next 90 day report is due 89 days from the date you entered the country

As you have a new TM6 number, you MIGHT have to report in person the first time, but absolutely try it first online.

There is no field to input TM6 number on the new 90days reporting system

Absolutely! I didn't actually say there was. There is a date of arrival and if this has changed since the previous TM47 was lodged, immigration MIGHT wish to reconcile their records. The manual TM47 form does have a field for the TM6 number, which to me indicates there is a link required (or maybe not, hence the capitalisation of the word "might"). I just thought the OP should be aware of this possibility

As you were told, the truth is 90days report counting starts on the day you enter Thailand again as day 1. The immigration system is not perfect. The 90days reporting system seems to be not connected to entry/exit record DB. If you are worried still, check with your local immigration office.

And if you are late to report (it is NOT the case this time though), it will be 2000thb fine and not the end of the world. In other words, it's not that urgent problem as you think.

You may need to be submitted with TM30 again when you are back from abroad on the other hand.
