we were told that if we applied for the retirement visa together with my husband as main applicant he only needs to have the 800k and not for me since I'm just a dependent. But since we applied inside Thailand they asked us to have both 800k..

why does she need a student visa when you have a retirement visa..it's perhaps the financial requirement ? We did a retirement visa in the beginning and we needed to have the 800k baht each ..now my husband's on a dtv and me as dependent only requiring 500k baht each

. Lots about issues with dtvs coming back from overseas being questioned and pulled over. I was kind of nervous because my hubby was returning back after 2.months here..luckily, he said it was smooth for him, no questions asked!
