TLDR : Answer Summary
The user experienced issues with credit card payment while applying for a Vietnamese visa and inquired if others faced similar problems. Many commenters shared their experiences with payment failures, suggesting that issues might arise from discrepancies between billing addresses and application details or from the credit card provider blocking transactions. Recommendations included using different payment methods, checking with the embassy, clearing browser history, or addressing potential technical glitches with the payment system. Several users emphasized that communication with the credit card company or using a reliable payment site is essential.

I submitted mine today at 6am. Had trouble with payment too. There was some strange things. Tried twice in chromium - Error 095. Tried in firefox and a security warning comes up. I check the security certificate and it doesn't match the chromium one and seems to be from Belgium. A bit Suspicious. I went back and tried again about an hour later in Chromium and it failed but then tried again changing to sms verification and it worked. Kaskorn the bank that processes the payments also regularly goes down for maintenence during the night for a few hrs at a time which could also have something to do with it.

I'm currently in Vietnam. I use Wise and I can't use my card here. It's in the fine print of their policy

I just had this issue, it was a problem with the address on the visa application, not matching the billing address of the credit card. It can be solved by either using a different credit card or re-processing a new application. I spent an hour with my bank (Chase) to learn that there’s nothing that can be done on the banking end, if the vendor is trying to process a charge with the wrong billing address, it’s auto declined. That was my experience, hope it helps and good luck.

I applied for a 90 day visa just yesterday and my credit card payment failed. I tried again and I had a notification payment failed, set up a new profile and try again! I managed to try the credit card payment again and it went through. You can contact technical support. I get this emailed info from them, once my payment went through:

Important Notice:

1. This acknowledgement email is not Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) or Visa On Arrival (VOA). Application is normally processed within 03 working days(*) after e-Visa fee has been paid with sufficient and valid information.

2. According to Article 5 at Resolution
*******
/QH14 of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam: e-Visa fee once submitted is NON-REFUNDABLE BY ANY REASON as the fee is for processing of the application and is not dependent on either Grant or Rejection of Visa.

3. If your information is not sufficient and valid, you will be requested to provide further information or you can be rejected based on the policy of Vietnam Immigration

4. The e-Visa fee payment status updation MAY TAKE UP TO 2 HOURS due to technical reasons/network delays. BEFORE RE-APPLYING, the applicants are requested to make sure that the previous payment has been CANCELLED or FAILED. If you submit and pay for the second application which is the same as the previous application, the Immigration Department will presume that you would like to apply a NEW VISA and that fee WILL NOT BE REFUNDED.

5. In case of the application to be further verified by Vietnam Immigration Department, you will receive the result between 03 and 15 working days(*).

6. To check your e-Visa result, follow these steps:

Step 1: Check your registration email or Visit the page:

Call your credit card company to ensure they are not blocking the transaction.

Also make sure it’s a real CC, not a visa debit etc, they don’t always work.

Did u check with provider? Also are you using same sim card/number in phone that is registered to CC? I needed to input OTP to authorise my Hanoi payment

Ask the CC provider

I would make sure he’s using the proper website, as there are a few scam websites out there.

Also, try clearing the

history/cookies on their phone/laptop/iPad etc.

I've never heard of any embassy or consulate taking credit cards. Most websites say cash only, and give a specific amount.
Katy *******
I've only been to embassies surrounding Thailand. Cash has always been required.

@Katy ******
Not anymore and this is changing globally. Western embassies in Thailand and surrounding countries often only accept payment by debit or credit card for their services but it depends on the country.

Vietnamese visas now have to be applied for online. At least short term tourist and business visas anyway.

@Katy ******
they need a visa to get IN to Vietnam 🙁

There is an eVisa online website that people from countries who need a visa before going to Vietnam use to get the visa issued without going to a Vietnamese embassy in the country they're in 🙂

There is a notice in this page now Tod and we apply for the $25 SE or $50 ME visa via this new site. I had challenges making a payment. The site has issues.

@Katy ******
so Vietnam isnt surrounding Thailand?
Katy *******
Maybe I'm confused... Is this person paying for a Vietnamese Entry Visa, or the DTV Visa at the Embassy or DTV online? Either way, I don't really care any further.
Myles *******
@Katy ******
maybe take a look at the evisa payment options. How would someone pay cash when apply online?

@Katy ******
you need to get out more
Paul *******
@Katy ******
Huh? Many embassies worldwide are only accepting credit cards and not taking cash anymore.

Your better off talking with the embassy don't waste your time here. You need a solution only the embassy will give you that.
