TLDR : Answer Summary
The posts discuss the requirements for a Filipina seeking a spousal visa in Thailand for her American husband. It was noted that typically, a spousal visa requires one spouse to be Thai, thus she may not qualify. However, she might explore the non-O dependent visa if her husband has a work permit, which requires an attested marriage certificate. Recommendations include consulting a Thai immigration lawyer and considering other visa options such as a retirement visa or a student visa.
NON-O RETIREMENT VISA RESOURCES / SERVICES
  • Go to the Retirement Visa Section for information on requirements, including age restrictions, financial requirements, and necessary documentation.
  • For immediate assistance, contact Thai Visa Centre directly via LINE at @ThaiVisaCentre or Email them.
  • Explore recent discussions by using the Non-O Retirement Visa tag in the search box at the top of the page.

You guys can get married in the Philippines; good luck it takes months to process all the dang paperwork and the fees never end. Recently got our marriage license after insane amounts of effort

My wife and I moved to Thailand in 2019, I was 53 years old and she was 48 years old, I got a retirement visa, and my wife on a dependent visa, what immigration requires is an original marriage certificate and a translation from our embassy in Bangkok. We are from Denmark👍

My Wife is a Filipina too and I am British, the way we did it was for me to get my retirement visa and my wife had a student visa to learn Thai, once she finished her visa which was 6 months she was allowed to 'follow' me on my retirement visa, best thing to do is speak to these people here, they was very helpful.

we were told that if we applied for the retirement visa together with my husband as main applicant he only needs to have the 800k and not for me since I'm just a dependent. But since we applied inside Thailand they asked us to have both 800k..

because you cannot get a dependent visa from inside Thailand using a Non-O retirement visa. It is normally only issued if the retirement visa is a Non-OA which can only be purchased in your country of residence.

why does she need a student visa when you have a retirement visa..it's perhaps the financial requirement ? We did a retirement visa in the beginning and we needed to have the 800k baht each ..now my husband's on a dtv and me as dependent only requiring 500k baht each

She needs to get the student visa to convert into a Non O dependent to her husband's retirement non o. You used to be able to apply for Non O dependent visas at nearby consulates which I did for my wife back in 2017. But consulates no longer do this so you need to convert from an Ed visa in country.

maybe not but you never know with Thai immigration. Was just a piece of advice mate. Agent first if no joy then speak to a lawyer. Probably didn't need the ego boosting take down. But hey if your reply made you feel good....

You can get non-O dependent visa if your husband got a work permit. For that you need to have your marriage certificate attestation (MEA).

It would be good if you could contact your nearest immigration office or Thai embassy

You wouldn’t qualify for spousal visa in the sense that one of the spouses isn’t Thai.

but you have to admit, it would be great if one could simply move to Thailand with your spouse and apply for a spousal visa. 🙏

yes unlike the United States and the people that hate the United States Thailand is allowed and liked and loved because it has border laws and proper immigration laws. So what you're going to be looking for is going to be more of a work visa. But if you think they will sit there and take the same shit Americans do by all means. Try....😇🙏😁
