Can I apply for a Thai DTV visa using funds in a Bangkok bank and an investment account, or is it safer to apply as a dependent?

I might sound like a broken record but please bear with me. So this is what we have decided:

1. Will register both of us for a 3.months Thai language class with a reputable institute here in Chiang Mai ..

2. I will have 500k before applying for dtv by Xmas time but not much months before that, instead I have money more than what is needed in my investment account

3. Hubby will be ok since he has all the money😀

Questions:

1. Can I apply using that 500k in Bkk bank and supported by my investment account?

2. Is it better or safer just to be a dependent and apply after hubby gets approved?

Thank you all for your patience and kind responses..

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about applying for a DTV visa, highlighting their plans to take a Thai language course and their financial situation. They ask if having 500k in a Bangkok bank, supported by their investment account, is sufficient for the visa application, and whether it is safer to apply as a dependent once their husband is approved. Responses indicate that Thai language courses typically do not qualify for the DTV visa and clarify financial requirements for the application.

Thai Language courses don't qualify for getting the DTV. About the money, I think only money deposited in regular accounts counts. Lastly, but not less important, remember you'll need to temporarily leave Thailand to apply for the visa at a Thai Embassy or consulate abroad, while you're physically waiting there.

Thai language is not soft skills. It normally falls under ED visa.

So what under what category are you applying for DTV?
