op🙏🏻, I know the interest need to pay tax and Thai baht around 1%.. i saw a promotion on bk bank offer 3.8% for usd, (since other overseas banks has 4.1 to 4.3 thesedays) but that 800k count .. question :

- If time deposits still qualified as 800k when renewal visa but not mature

- any other Thai bank or Thai institutions like broker account uninvested cash that 800k still accepted by visa extension?

And can that 800k sit in overseas bank?

Seems like you are looking for teaching job or IT auditing in the future… the 5000 usd for renting is crazy in US, 2500 usd in prime areas in Bangkok built after 2010 can give you luxury space.

The job in Thai only give you the opportunity of visa for staying.

I can tell your the intl’ school teacher with experience of teaching IB/GCSG can earn around 5000 usd and the IT like accredited CISA , only around 2000 usd.

Thai gov only need your money come from overseas, like you buy elite visa , retirement or 800k baht over 50 years old

By the way you don’t need any visa if your child student in school which help parent to issue parent dependent visa of child education

I would keep all the receipts of money transfer to Thai, as well as the exchange from shop and the deposit to bank for proof, ps many people sold their condo and forget the initial FET (aka a proof of bringing money in Thai) , without those it is pain to move your asset out of Thai

foreigners can work in Thai if the employers willing to sponsor work permit like document and tax.

It is like many native speakers luckily get a teaching English job in schools.

There are many ways to survive in Thai even don’t have accredited professional qualifications, keep applying, telling them your knowledge and how you have contributed to pastry/F&B business

Off topic, suppose retired get pm from pension, that 800,000 staying in Thai bank suppose not a problem? 🤔

yes I am BC and now based in HK, looking for moving to Thai, I guess it is not about citizenship, HSBC issues many cards, you can asking them or your PM ..because hsbc hidden many new application doesn’t mean not existing . Eg Jade account is still existing , while people say all are now premier .
