Do you have dual citizenship with HK? I don't think I'll be able to get it. Annoyingly, I don't have the Baht in my currencies, yet the HSBC Expat global card does.

surely you still have to pay the Thai bank fee of 220bt? I have the HSBC Global Money card & can't wriggle out of it. Maybe if you have an American one? I've read some USA cards do manage to do this.

I too have a HSBC Global Money account, to remove UK fees. Is there any merit in having a HSBC Expat account? Bangkok Bank sound the best Thai bank, but I'm a few yrs away from retiring.

Qatar Airways let's you amend your return flight for no fee. There are also websites that allow you book 'apparent' flights, for a small fee.
