I am going to apply for retirement visa in June. I have a Permanent address and yellow book. I also have a ID card(Pink) for people of non Thai nationality. I also have the 800k and Thai bank account. I'm from Ireland .
My question is
1) Do I apply for retirement visa before I go to Thailand .
2) Can I get multi entry retirement visa.
3) As I won't be in Thailand for the majority of the first year. Is there a minimum amount of days I must stay in Thailand.
Many thanks to all the responses and great information! I now see that the Non O marriage visa is the best way to go. This is exactly why I joined this group. Thanks again and I can’t wait to get there and start meeting people and begin my retirement! 🙏🙏🙏😎😎😎🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭
I am getting ready to retire to the Korat area of Thailand with my Thai wife, probably in the next 2-3 months. I am trying to understand the OA long stay visa, and I am using the Thai E-visa official website, but I’m having some trouble understanding just what I need to do to get my application approved. I am from the US so hoping that there are people on this page from the US with experience having recently gone through this. I meet the financial qualifications so that’s not a problem. But can anyone explain the medical certificate and the certificate of criminal record clearance? Where do I get those? I have posted the page and it’s basically numbers 5-8 that are making it difficult. Any help/advice would be much appreciated! Thank in advance.
I am going to apply for a non immigrant OA retirement visa in Thailand. Doing research it say you need to deposit 800k baht or show passive income of 65k baht a month? It that right? Is it one or the other? How difficult is it to apply yourself in person at the immigration without an agent? Would I need to deposit money before applying? Which from what I am reading hard to open a bank account without proof of residency. Any advise what steps to take in chronological order for a smooth process would be greatly appreciated. If you are required to deposit 800k in bank, can that money be used to pay rent or medical? Does the 90 day reporting ask questions in regard to money left in the Thai bank?
EDIT: My wife and I are retiring together. We are both US citizens. We are both over 50. She is a veteran. She has enough income, mine is a little shy on the monthly amount required. We plan to apply individually.
When your comments mention that rules can depend on the immigration office, are you referring to offices inside Thailand or one of the 5 Thailand Embassies in the US? Thank you all for your valuable input and feedback. 🎉💛
What is the current minimum insurance requirement for a Non-OA extension? I thought I had seen that it was reduced from THB 3 million to less, but I can't find that anywhere. Thanks.
Probably asked a million times but lm wanting retirement visa NON O was told there's a NON OA visa. No 800k in the bank is it true and advantages of both?
