Hello group.

Im in a retirement visa up here in Chiangmai. My annual renewal date is december 12. I do the actual renewal 2-3 weeks before. The question is. What date is used for the 800.000 to be in the account 3 month ? .. is the "visa date" or the actual date when you do the renewal ?.. wkr Henrik

Does anyone know if the 800,000 baht needed to meet the long term visa requirement needs to be a saving’s/checking account or can it be put into an investment account?

I understand US does not do the monthly income verification any longer. If I want to retire there with the monthly income method, what verification is good for Thailand government for retirement visa? TIA

Most people posting talk about the requirement to have 800,000 baht sitting in their Thai bank account.

My understanding is that the 800,000 required can be made up from two separate amounts. One being proof of pension amount received in your home country as income there ( say 600,000 total annually), and the second amount only required in the Thai bank account being the difference, say 200,000 baht.

Is this correct ?

Hello… This August I will be renewing my 1year extension Non-O based on being 50+

January i opened a second savings account and placed my 800,000+ baht into it, that way I never used it and only used my original account for daily living etc , part of the reason I did this was because I didn’t want stacks of paperwork from the yearly activity that immigration requires that I have showing that I’ve never gone below 400,000 and maintained 800,000 when required months….Question is, will I need copy requests from both accounts showing the whole year requirement money, how do I go about this? I figured I’d make life easier for me but now I think I didn’t 😔

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know if the funds to be deposited for various visas (800,000 baht, etc.) must be placed in a Thai bank savings account? Or can they be invested in a Thai bank fund account (or savings plus funds)? I understand that the total holdings cannot fall below the minimum threshold (400,000 baht, etc.). TIA

I’m getting mixed messages about the 800k baht requirement for the non-O extension even before reading the 5th check box. Is it needed in there for 2 months or 3 months prior to application in the Phuket immigration office?

does the 800k deposit for the visa extension have to be from your home country or can it be a withdrawal from a crypto exchange(theoretically;))?
