You don’t need your embassy for residency certificate, you can go to immigration and ask for one and specify that it’s for driver’s license purposes. We got it done at the same time as doing the 90-day reporting.

Hi there,

The trick is to go early before they even open up. I went into Cheang Wattana immigration in BKK for 90 day reporting at 9:35am and finished at 4pm.

The next time I went in at 7:30am and got in the queue, I was finished by 9:10am.

Also remember that you only need to go in person the first time you do 90-day reporting after entering Thailand.

yup, I’m going to blame the ambiguity in the wording on translation, but that doesn’t explain all these people telling me I’m not reading it correctly

I know, right 🤷🏼‍♀️😂 thank you. And funny how it’s always the older men that tell me I misread or misunderstood when it clearly says “3 days before”. I just don’t get it

yeah when you live in Hong Kong and have family and a house in Bangkok, you end up doing 2 trips a month on average, mostly booked last minute when I find I have a free weekend. It’s a 3hr max flight so yeah, weekend trip to Thailand. Why is that an issue for you?

thank you, makes sense. I hope they don’t impose “3 days before” as it will be discouraging to many
