TLDR : Answer Summary
Several expats have successfully transported their dogs to Thailand, highlighting that there are no specific visa requirements for pets when entering the country. Key requirements include obtaining an import permit, a health certificate issued within 10 days of departure, up-to-date vaccinations, microchipping, and a rabies shot. Many have found the process manageable and stress-free, especially with the help of specialized pet relocation services.

A very painful process and costly

In the process currently. Very easy. You need an import permit, health certificate within 10 days of leaving, all shots up to date (check shot requirements), microchip, and rabies shot.

Yes I transported my two from Portugal to Samui, I used these guys they’re worth every penny -

I had door to door service, they handled all documentation both in Europe and Thailand. The pet border control in Bangkok don’t ask for visa details. I don’t actually think k even submitted my DTV it was just passport and the dogs papers.

I have transported my dogs all over the world the past 10 years and this one was by far the most stress free thanks to these guys I used.

how did they get to Samui please ? We are a bit worried by how long from Bangkok to Samui as want it to be as least stress for them as possible 😬 thank you x

they drove and got a ferry. It’s the better option than another flight and more checks in and out the airport. The dogs arrived before me but my son was waiting for them at my villa, they were super happy didn’t seem stressed at all, very tired which is understandable.

do you mind sharing how much you paid? I have 4 dogs 😆. Just wondering if it’s worth using a company or doing it myself! Thanks 😊

@Mel ********
for the 2 boys I paid just over €4k, the price is based on the size and weight of the dogs, plus I also had them collected from my home rather than meeting at the airport which was an added fee.

It was worth it just for the fact they handled all the documentation and immigration. The last time I had travelled with them was 5 years prior and everything had changed since then and extra certificates were needed which I knew nothing about.

Everyone can bring a dog. Just need all the required documents and vaccins for your pet.
