Only in my wildest dreams could this be true. I missed out last year. I earned 38,500 baht and bar that one month earned 40k+ every month some months 80k + incoming from abroad it was still a big fat - NO. It’s most defiantly impossible.

and Tod Daniels thank you further, I'll definitely make the most of it to qualify next year. I actually missed the 40k requirement last year in May, so with the visit Thai family extension I work out I just miss out as it'd be the end of this April I have until. Sod's law. Still, nice to know that the ME visa from Savannakhet will be valid to try again next year in country.

Thank you very much. I think this is my best option and only option left, I have 60k+ deposited from an off shore company each month bar one hiccup where I was very ill (I still made 37.5k) so I'm busted I guess. Thanks again for reminding me of this alternate option.

I have done. And I had all paperwork ready to file a new TM30 for that day, in the room next door but they didn't ask me to update. They just stapled back my permanent address from the two TM30 slips of choice I gave them upon my 90 day report. It seems we can never know what to expect upon any visit on any given day.

I can add further my experience this afternoon at Korat immigration, if it is of any use/ interest. I did my Thai wife visa in Chaiphum due to staying with my wife's family there for 2 months; I had to file a TM30 to acquire my visa. However, today upon returning to Korat ( my permanent address), I did not get asked to file a new TM30 as I kept hold of my old TM30 for my permanent address. The officer just stapled that one back in to my passport replacing the TM30 from where I had been staying in Chaiphum. I don't believe this is the correct procedure, but it worked for me today. I would most definitely say for Korat at least you don't need to file a TM30 every time you stay away from home any longer, in country.

@Lloyd *******
thanks, I thought that was the case. I'll do as you suggest. Thanks again.

@Lloyd *******
yes, I did. But I explained my situation of temporary living away from Korat for a few months due to family reasons and they let me keep my TM30 for Korat to switch back to ( I wasn't sure at the time if that was the correct procedure). I'll go along and see what they say with the old TM30, when I return to Korat next week. Thank you very much for putting my mind at rest.

@Lloyd *******
, thanks. I still have my TM30 for my permanent residency in Korat, will I need to redo this or just stamp this back in to my passport?

You've done a grand job Tod. Thanks, to you I can plan legally ahead for an always better future without the stress that normally comes with visa extensions. Cheers πŸ‘
