Can I apply for a 60-day extension on my multiple entry non-immigrant O visa without voiding it?

Possibly a dumb question.

I have a multiple entry non-immigrant O visa, valid until September. I am currently here on a 90-day stay, which will expire at the end of this month.

Can I apply for a 60-day extension of stay based on visiting family, taking me to roughly April 30, then do a border bounce and get another 90 days? Or will the extension of stay void the visa?

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about the possibility of applying for a 60-day extension of stay on a multiple entry non-immigrant O visa, specifically for visiting family, and whether this would void the existing visa. The responses confirmed that applying for the extension should not affect the validity of the visa, allowing for a border run afterwards to obtain another 90-day entry stamp, although interpretations of the extension policy may vary by immigration office.

Should have no issue at all getting the 60 day visit thai family extension at the immigration office where you stay for 1900baht

Won't affect the validity of the VISA in the least.. You can still bounce out and back to get new 90 day entry stamps on it until it expires.

Keep in mind different offices interpret the clause that allows 60 day extension for visiting family (clause 2.24 police order

) in different ways..

SOME offices allow you to get that 60 day extension ONCE PER ENTRY <- meaning you can take it every time you enter on that 90 day visa

BUT

SOME offices allow you to get that 60 day extension only ONCE PER VISA <- meaning you can use it once on ANY entry (and if that's the case you should hold it and use it on the last 90 day entry you make on that visa)

Thank you, much appreciated as always. Clear and concise. I will ask how they interpret the rule when I apply for the extension.

could I do the same in May extending my extension to 60 days married to a Thai wife? I went for my last boarder bounce last week and have 90 days until May 15th until I have to exit. I have not ever used the 60 day extension married to a Thai wife before. I’m unsure, if I can as I’ve extended already (my multiple entry Non - O visa is Feb 28th 2024 to Feb 28th 2025).
