I applied too early for my wife’s 90 day Visa in September, it came in a few days, because the Visa was going to expire before we could travel due to a house sale, I applied for another Visa on the 15th of October and it still hasn’t been approved, I sent them an email and they replied there is an unprecedented amount of applications hence why it’s taking so long, the second Visa was to be able to travel from the 12th of December onwards

You need to get your 90 day Non O in your own country as you will NOT be able to open a bank account. I spoke to one agent in Bangkok who can do it, but they want 60,000 baht per person, they say they are able to open the account as you will be applying for the Visa. Today they sent a message saying they had so many customers wanting it that they don’t know how long they will be able to do it for.

I’m already here and have everything sorted for myself, but my wife moves later in the year and I’ve been looking at all the options.

an agent told me today that there has been over 300,000 Thai bank accounts closed down and it’s reported that around 1,000,000 Thai bank accounts will be closed down, it’s about money laundering.

I was told by an agent the rules changes recently and you’ll struggle to open a bank account unless your over 50
