Hi, I’m 50 years old and my wife is 48 years old, UK citizens, I’m British wife is Polish with British Passport, if I get the 1 year retirement visa in the U.K. can my wife get a visa for one year also? Or do we need to wait until she is 50 years old.
Elite visa isn’t an option for us, going forward the 800k or 65k per month would both be an option.
Thank you for amy advice.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A British citizen aged 50 can obtain a retirement visa (Non-O) in Thailand, and their spouse, a Polish citizen with a British passport, can apply for a trailing spouse visa. The primary visa holder needs to meet the financial requirements, and it is recommended to legalize the marriage certificate for use in Thailand. While it is possible to apply for the trailing spouse visa in the UK, waiting until the spouse turns 50 may simplify the process, as local Thai embassies often require the primary holder to be on an annual extension before this visa is issued.

Not sure of the rules of the UK embassy regarding a “trailing spouse” Non O visa. Perhaps they’d issue one. Usually local embassies around Thailand won’t issue one until the spouse is on a year extension of stay.
If you can I would suggest you get a Non-O based on being over 50 and your wife gets a Non-O based on being a trailing spouse in the UK before you come to Thailand. If you wait until you are inside Thailand to apply for the Non-O based on being over 50 then your wife will have to visit an embassy outside of Thailand to get the trailing spouse Non-O plus she will have to wait until you are on an annual extension to do that.
Trailing spouse is possible, you would be advised to get your marriage cert legalized for use in Thailand by having it certified as an original which is done somewhere in Milton Keynes assuming you married in UK, but please google it as things change. You may have to get it translated into Thai & certified again here. This can be done in Bangkok or maybe by an agent if neccessary. Different immigration offices interpret rules differently so always best to check exact requirements with your local office.
Come on tourist & convert to O or O visa but work fast as you will need 800k in Thai account 2 months before your 1st 2year extension
