Today my spouse and I went to the Immigration Chaengwattana to inquire about required documents for the first one year's extension of Non-O (spouse) visa. We also visited Bangkok Bank branch downstairs to check about getting a statement and balance-confirmation letter from them.
We were told that if we have already had the required amount sit in the account for four months, we can have those two documents right away with no conditions whatsoever. Otherwise, they will issue the documents but will freeze that amount in the account for four months, starting from the date of issuance.
Does anyone know if any other banks also do this? (I know that Krungsri doesn't -- at least not yet -- because we went in to ask also.)
Will this become standard in the future? HOPE NOT!
I’m in Koh Samui can anyone recommend an agent in the chaweng area . I would like to open a bank account I have a non o retirement visa from the UK . Thanks in advance for replying.
Currently in Thailand in the first 90 day period of a Non O visa. Trying to open a bank account so I can deposit the 800K which I have available in my UK bank.
I have a TM30 but no lease/rental agreement as am staying at my girlfriends house.
Any suggestions of what I could try? The house is in girlfriends fathers name and we have blue book and he can come to bank if required.
1. Do only certain banks do accounts for 90 Day non immigrant o visa holders? If so which ones.
2. Or do only certain ones meet the requirements for the extension application?
3. Has anyone done a Dime! Foreign Currency Deposit account with KKP? Looks like the FCD account gives 5% APR in first $3000usd, then 3% in $3001-$30000usd. Plus, they have investment account on the Dime! app where you can buy international stocks. Does that count toward ฿800000 minimum balance requirement? If not what bank offers best rate on the money that has to sit there as proof?
4. If you extend and stay 180 or more days, do you have to show proof that the money remitted was earned before January 1, 2024?
Does anybody know which thai bank the wise app uses?
I know they send to most banks but the actual bank they deal with will show international transfer on bank statement. Which is needed for when I go for non o 90 day.
