I went to the DLT in Bang Chak a few days ago to convert my home license to a Thai driving license. I got a queue and was sent back home. Before leaving I asked the officer if I have to do the test anytime at home and return with the printed result on 1 July at 08:00 and he just nodded. 🧐
When I try to do my convert test on the DLT website it just says “Coming soon”.
So my question is: do I need to do the test on 1 July at 08:00 online at home then go back to the DLT office on a later date whenever I want? Or do I have to go there in person on the given date and do the test there?
Can anyone recommend a DLT(driver license) location that allows walk-ins? The online appointment queue is full for the next two months. Aside from Chatuchak, are there any other DLT offices where walk-ins are accepted?
If Chatuchak is the only option, what’s the best time to go to increase the chances of getting a same-day slot? Thanks! 🙏🏻
Just spent 5 hours shuffling between korat immigration and dlt for them to refuse to give me the documents to get a driver's licence because I'm on a DTV. Any suggestions? I'm happy to travel so I can get all of this sorted legally. Tried contacting a few agents here but no one would help.
I want to take my driving license here in thailand I have all the necessary documents. Is there any recommended agencies/organizations that can assist me with a fast track option, thanks.
Hello can anyone explain to me the proper procedure to renew a 5 yr driver's license. I know about the medical certificate and showing TM30 to immigration. My concern is what form immigration needs before I take it to the dept of transport. Can I get the form online...ie TM18??? Or just go to immigration. Or do i get the form from the dept of transport. Which is done first...hate to make extra trips...thank you
I went to the DLT (Dept of Land Transport) at Bangkok, Chatuchak today. Started at 8AM and got my Thai license by 3PM. Parked my car nearby outside DLT. Clinic nearby car park too and opens 7AM.
✅A quick medical check then a short walk to DLT building #4, on 1st floor inside turn right to Foreigner section, took a queue number to verify my documents. Documents passed to me and staff told me to go 2nd floor at 11am. We went behind building #4 where there’s a nice canteen for breakfast and lunch only.
✅Breakfast done, we went to 2nd floor, took a queue number and submitted my documents. Next documents passed to me and told to go 3rd floor for “physical fitness tests”.
✅At 3rd floor, go to counter, submit documents and take queue number. When they are ready, go for 4 simple tests. Colour blindness test. Depth perception test. Reflex test. Peripheral vision test.
✅Once done, go to 4th floor to wait for training video 1hr. My time slot was 1PM. Video in English.
✅After video, took back documents and went to 2nd floor to get queue number. This is the part you pay B$205 (CASH), photo taken and you get your Thai license on the spot 🥳 Happy as a bird 🦅
