Hi all, looking for recommendations for a good tax accountant in Phuket (chalong) area if possible.
Will be changing my residency from Australian to Thailand for taxes and also have a company in Hong Kong where i currently get paid.
Ideal accountant would be across these expat situations, up to date with latest changes vs latest rumours and good english would be great as I'll have a lot of questions. Doesn't need to be the cheapest accountant, just a good one.
Hoping for some advice from someone who can talk from experience.
I’ve recently built and moved to my new home. Unfortunately it appears I’ve either misplaced or thrown out by mistake my passport and Thai bank books. What are the steps I need to take to renew a passport and transfer my present visa etc?
We’re two parents here on non-O (guardian) visas. Applied for our resident cards last week and going to open a bank account this week.
Do we EACH need 500,000 baht in a separate account (so $1M in totally) or can we have a joint account with 500K in it? If joint account is allowed, do we need to go for our extensions on separate days so that it’s not obvious it’s the same account?
Hey all, for Canadians that relocated to Thailand, what did you do with your address on your Canadian drivers license/snail mail? Did you change it to a relative's address, or something else? And anything else you need to do for your address regarding the government?
Hi all. US passport here, on a 1-year retirement extension that began on December 26 2022 & expires Jan. 31, 2024. We’ve since bought a condo in Bangkok, & there was a delay in registering as the owner because the condo didn’t have a blue book - the number in the blue book is required to set up an account online. Once I got that blue book, I registered online as the owner.
The problem: I just now returned from traveling outside Thailand & am having problems registering myself online as staying at my own home.
My question: My original 90-day check in was set for March 27 - would it make sense for me to go immigration around that time, next week, & try to straighten out the whole thing re: online reporting of location? The system just will not allow me to complete that form online.
Good morning to all Thai residents and non-residents.
I finally have my residence in Thailand complete with a certificate from my embassy.
I want to do a license conversion and was wondering if anyone has been to the dept of transportation *recently* and whether I need to book appointment in advance or just go and stand in line. Free appointments slots in Bangkok are available only by early June…
I submitted my TM30 for my rented condo on behalf of my landlord in April 2021. The lease agreement was only one year. I'm still renting that condo and have since signed a new lease agreement. But haven't submitted or updated the tm30. Was this something I was supposed to do? Should I be worried? Also I'm currently out of the country and am not sure whether I still have to report myself within 24 hours of arriving. Pre COVID, this was necessary and I had to go to the immigration office and get a stamp on my receipt of notification. I know there's an app, my landlord is an old man and wouldn't know how to work it.
