Have you considered going Elite?

Pretty sure they're allowed on the list (of potential returnees) now. Also pretty sure that is not true of ED visa holders.

Are we sure new applicants would be eligible? I mean you don't actually have the visa until you arrive.

I'd certainly try to chat with Elite as well as Thai embassy before paying.

Did the process in the spring. Took ~6 weeks. Lost some time due to stupid banks during the payment phase.

I'd suggest you talk with them directly.
