Hey group, I had a question regarding the Educational Visas
I have been hearing rumors That Chiang Mai Immigration, put a temporary hold on new in-country education visa applications. No reason nor a deadline has been given in this update. I was told it was Many schools, including language and boxing schools.
Is this true? Or dos that just applies for certain countries that have been flagged.
To get my DTV visa I am looking for an authorized school to take Thai classes, thank you for your advice because I need a cultural activity on site to be able to get it. Some of you ever get it this way?

I have a quick question. I am applying for a non o-ED visa for my daughter online, but I couldn't find which option to choose in the purpose of visit section of the non o Guardian visa application for myself.please help me
There are two types one is for university study and the one I am giving information on is "Soft Power Education" this includes thai boxing language and such
There is two things to this. The soft power education visa is permission from the Educational Ministry to learn for one year.
What you get from immigration is a 3 month stamp that you have to extend with fee 1900 baht ( 50 USD ) also ontop of this you still have to check in every 90 days which can be done on an app on your phone or in-person at immigration office.
If you miss extension or have to leave for any reason and you mis the time frame to extend you have to start back over and the educational visa is 20,000 baht .. ( 500 )
I just did this today and was given full explanation by the school doing my visa.
Hope this helps someone else 🙏 and I was explained that bank accounts are not given for these soft power education or hard to get just FYI
Hi all, I’ve been in the group for a while and had a question. Currently, I’m living in Thailand on an ‘educational’ visa, working remotely. I want to apply for the DTV around September, from my home country. However, my employer doesn’t actually know I’m working abroad, and I don’t think they’d allow it either. In other words, I won’t be able to provide a confirmation letter stating that I’m allowed to work abroad.
What I do have is an employment statement that shows I’m working remotely. It doesn’t explicitly mention that I’m allowed to work abroad, but it doesn’t disprove it either. My question is: Would this be sufficient for the application? And does it matter that I’ve been on an educational visa previously? Once this visa expires, I’ll apply for the DTV.
I'm afraid we have messed up with our kids visas. They are 5 and 7 and in international school.
We are on a DTV and tried to get them as dependants but as we are already in Thailand, that's not possible.
We are now trying to get their educational visas sorted for them, but they are in overstay.
And not just any overstay, an overstay of +180 days.
We have royally messed up here, please don't judge, it's been a difficult year.
My question is, can we take them out of Thailand for a holiday, and take them back to Thailand for a visa exempt, and then while in Thailand, have the exempt converted to educational?
Or do we risk the kids not being allowed back in?
Again, both my husband and I have our visas, it's just our 5 and 7 year old.
So today I called and asked a couple questions as a veteran receiving disability benefits. I was told that not only is disability and school stipends not accepted as a reason to get a visa approved but also rental properties were not a reason to get a visa approved. he said that my best option was to get a remote job or to enroll in a class out in Thailand. he also let me know that the music option is only for any type of concert that is a year-long going to one or two concert even if they are months apart will not get you approved. Unless you are performing multiple concerts that are far apart. Also let me know signing up for anything that is less than two or three months will not get you approved a two week cooking class or an appointment that is less than 60 days apart will get denied. This is from an Embassy worker that I was blessed to speak to without paying or completing an application. He also lmk that we aren’t supposed to call them for that lol 😂 but he was nice.
