TLDR : Answer Summary
A Canadian man is seeking advice on how to enter Thailand to join his girlfriend, as they are not married and he does not qualify for a marriage visa. Community members respond with various suggestions and emphasize the current restrictions on entry, advising him to keep informed about immigration updates, explore options like the Elite visa and investment visa, or consider contacting the Thai embassy for guidance.

On the website of the Thai embassies there is all the information about visa.

Impossible at the moment until November minimum.

Your case is not in the approved groups to entry in Thailand. You must wait...

Give up you're a lost cause

Elite visa is allowed in now and can apply outside country

That is very sensible! Cheers.

@Thomas *******************
they are affixing Elite visas in embassies now, this is a change given the particular circumstances.
Thomas ********************
Good to know, thanks!

I'd still recommend trying to have a chat with the relevant Thai embassy.

i came in with non O but stopped following group now back and the next group from Singapore came in. But people were just being allowed in then about 3 weeks ago who had applied outside.
Thomas ********************
I'm here and have it already. Curious but too lazy to join that group :)

Check out farangs stranded abroad if you want to know how its done

Are we sure new applicants would be eligible? I mean you don't actually have the visa until you arrive.

I'd certainly try to chat with Elite as well as Thai embassy before paying.

There actually is one way you can do it, but it takes at least bt10million investment in Thailand, then you can in fact get an investment visa and enter Thailand, but, like I said, it is very expensive initially. Very few know about this, as it is extremely expensive to do.
Billy *********
Your facing around 100,000 thb for all, 2 weeks quarantine, flight, required health insurance and cost of the visa service with bo garuntee
Billy *********
You will pay thru the nose for a volunteer visa or just wait it out
Billy *********
That's what I thpught too Ian but a buddy of mine entered on a volunteer visa in phuket Airport and didn't do quarantine, I have no idea how that happened, but it did happen
Ivan ************
Volunteer cannot enter Thailand right now. This may be an option for people who are already here to stay, but it won't get you in if you aren't here already.

Fly your girlfriend out. Marry her. Go back. There are many countries you can still fly into.

What ever you do in Canada for $$$$$$$$$$$ get better at it the more you have the ea$ier it become$ as you become more able to obtain "Better help" to correctly prepare the necce$ary document$... There is a possibility that long term Tourist visas (4 or 6 months) may become avalible sometime november for preffered "Tourists". Do not hold your breathe though any mini-outbreakwill scuttle that ship overnight.

@Tod ********
aka be rich enough that you don't need a job and hire lawyers to open you a company
Megs *******
Mate, unfortunately at the moment only the approved groups can get in, that's it. If you are not eligible you will have to wait until the borders open to tourists. There is no other way around it, even long term residents on retirement visas cant return to their homes. Keep up with the news on sites such as Bangkok Post to keep informed on border restrictions easing.

Thx for all you advices it’s very appreciated. I guess I won’t be able to see her for over a year 😢

. It's highly unlikely that Thailand will open without restriction before Christmas. The government was looking at a select scheme to let in a number of long term tourists into monitored resorts, but that's fallen on its face. In your situation, unless you have work permit or married to a Thai, or have a kid here, I'd say not until, at the earliest, April next year. There are still thousands of O and OA visa holders ahead of you, to say nothing of the elite visa holders about to muscle into the queue!

what are the chances that in does 2 month Thailand will opens. Thailand’s high season is coming should they try to open to maximize income coming in the country

@Shayne **************
agree with what Daisy says. Elite visa is entirely legit, and it looks like they will be the next group allowed in. The process takes 6-10 weeks, so not too long.
Megs *******
@Shayne **************
no, it's not a scam, but it's expensive. From what I understand the process to apply for the elite visa and receive confirmation can be quite long. At the moment I dont think elite visa holders can enter Thailand either, but may be included in the next group allowed in, maybe.

Well I saw something about elite Visa card or something is that a scam or it’s real

dont give up, you will get there eventually. Covid has turned this world upside down, nothing is as it was. Try to stay positive. 😊
